Nestled in a quiet corner of scenic Itoshima, our traditional Japanese heritage home offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. A three-minute stroll brings you to the vast, blue horizon of the sea. Ideally located, you are just 10 minutes from the majestic Keya-no-Oto and the enchanting "Totoro Forest," with local dining and Keya Beach only a short drive away. Experience a timeless way of life that feels both new and familiar.

Keya-no-Oto Great Basalt Cave

As one of Japan’s three largest basalt caves and a nationally designated natural monument, Keya-no-Oto features stunning hexagonal columnar joints formed by ancient volcanic activity. To explore the interior of this magnificent structure, sightseeing boats operate from spring through November, though departures depend strictly on calm sea conditions. The sight of these basalt cliffs rising from the Genkai Sea is truly awe-inspiring.

The "Totoro Forest" Trail

This mystical natural tunnel serves as the entrance to the Keya-no-Oto Observatory, a 15-minute walk that feels like a scene from a Ghibli film. A popular destination for photography and bridal shoots, the observatory offers panoramic views of the Genkai Sea. Nearby, you’ll find the Picnic Village featuring the popular seafood restaurant "Irori," as well as a 500-meter seaside campground that comes alive with visitors during the warmer months.

Keya Beach

Recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as one of Japan’s "100 Best Beaches," Keya Beach is celebrated for its exceptional water clarity. During the summer, traditional beach huts (Umi-no-Ie) provide a lively atmosphere for families. The beach is also famous for its stunning crimson sunsets. For those seeking a view from above, the trailhead for Mt. Tateishi is located just a short distance away.
